Salary: USD 170,000 - 200,000 / annual
Brigit is a fintech company building financial health products for everyday Americans. This Director of Human Resources role is a pivotal leadership position reporting to the COO, responsible for owning and evolving the People function as the company scales.
You will develop and execute a multi-year People strategy aligned with business objectives, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational health, talent strategy, and workforce planning. Key responsibilities include translating business priorities into scalable HR programs and infrastructure, using data and analytics to inform decision-making, and leading post-close integration work across people, systems, and culture.
In talent and performance management, you'll oversee performance frameworks ensuring alignment with company goals, partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition on hiring strategy, develop programs to assess and retain top talent, and elevate manager capability through coaching and training.
You'll lead employee experience initiatives including onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle processes. You'll oversee office operations to ensure a welcoming workspace, plan company events to support culture and engagement, and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all programs.
Employee relations and compliance are critical: you'll ensure fair, consistent, legally compliant practices, maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and partner with Legal on risk mitigation and policy development.
You bring 7+ years of progressive HR experience including leadership roles, with demonstrated success in both large complex organizations and high-growth startups. You have experience supporting post-close integration, partnering with executive teams, and operating at both strategic and tactical levels. The role is on-site in NYC with an expectation of 4–5 days per week in the office.
