Orchard Robotics is building AI-powered systems to automate farming and secure America's food supply. The company uses edge vision AI mounted on tractors to capture precise crop data—yield estimates, fruit size, health, disease—and feeds this intelligence into FruitScope OS, a farm-management platform trusted by major agricultural operations. Backed by $25M+ from top-tier investors (Quiet Capital, Shine Capital, General Catalyst), Orchard is scaling rapidly with growing customer bases and international expansion.
As Director of Finance & Revenue Operations, you will be Orchard's first dedicated finance leader, serving as the day-to-day financial partner to the CEO and leadership team. This is a hands-on role spanning the full finance stack: you'll own day-to-day operations (invoicing, AR/AP, vendor payments, cash visibility), build and maintain the operating model, budget, cash forecasts, and headcount plans, administer sales commissions, partner with the VP of Sales on revenue forecasting, and work with external CPAs on monthly close and tax compliance. You'll create management dashboards for operational visibility, support pricing and contract economics with rigorous modeling, and establish practical approval policies and controls.
You'll connect contracts, CRM, billing, expenses, headcount, and the operating plan into a single reliable source of truth. This role requires both strategic thinking and execution: building financial models, sending invoices, improving systems, and owning all finance-related outcomes. You'll work closely with the VP Sales, Operations Lead, department heads, and external CPAs.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years in startup finance, strategic finance, accounting operations, investment banking, or consulting, with strong in-house startup operating experience preferred. You need exceptional financial modeling and spreadsheet skills, deep knowledge of the three financial statements, hands-on experience with billing/AR/AP/commissions workflows, and familiarity with tools like QuickBooks, Ramp, payroll platforms, HubSpot, and planning software. You're detail-oriented, a systems thinker, and communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You're comfortable operating as a solo internal finance function while coordinating with external experts.
