This Director of Finance role leads the accounting and finance function across multiple international entities, reporting to the CFO. You will own financial operations, planning, and controls while building and managing a distributed international finance team.
Key responsibilities include: leading the finance function and managing an international team across multiple countries with hiring, development, and succession planning; owning accounting operations end-to-end including accounts payable, reconciliation, and month/year-end close across multiple countries and currencies; establishing and maintaining a strong control environment with standardized processes across jurisdictions; navigating country-specific tax, payment, and compliance requirements including Quebec obligations; partnering with the CFO on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting; delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis to leadership and the Board; and driving process improvement, automation, and efficiency initiatives across finance systems and workflows.
You bring extensive senior-level finance experience with proven team leadership managing managers or leads and building distributed teams. You have working knowledge of Quebec financial, tax, and regulatory requirements or substantial prior experience operating in Quebec. You demonstrate experience managing finance operations across multiple countries, currencies, and time zones with strong technical finance judgment and the ability to scale processes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with senior leadership are essential.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience as the senior finance owner for multiple legal entities across different countries, exposure to building and scaling finance functions for growing enterprise SaaS businesses, a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent), and experience or curiosity about applying AI tools to finance processes and analysis.
