Salary: GBP 126,000 - 126,000 / annual
Monta is an EV-charging platform that connects hardware, software, businesses, and drivers into a seamless ecosystem. The company serves 300,000+ monthly users and is building the infrastructure behind the EV transition.
You will report to the UK-based CFO and own group financial control end-to-end across multiple entities and currencies. Key responsibilities include:
**Group Financial Control & Close:** Own the month-end close process, driving speed and predictability. Hold sign-off authority on accounting treatments (VAT, revenue recognition) across entities. Manage group consolidation and inter-company eliminations. Oversee payroll, AR/AP, and bank reconciliation across multiple banking partners and currencies. Set and enforce posting controls and chart-of-accounts policy.
**Team & Process Leadership:** Manage and develop the wider group accounting team, including third-party bookkeepers, with multiple direct reports. Drive automation and streamlining of processes while maintaining strong financial controls. Partner with FP&A on forecast-to-actuals reconciliation and board reporting. Own technical responsibility for the company ERP system.
**Compliance & Strategic Projects:** Serve as primary contact for external auditors (PwC). Drive AI adoption across finance functions. Own transfer pricing compliance and documentation. Bring technical accounting judgment to strategic projects (new entity structures, evolving revenue recognition). Lead technical accounting input on product development (invoice generation, VAT engine). Own statutory audit and group compliance across all entities.
**Required Qualifications:** Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience and proven track record managing teams across geographies. Strong technical accounting knowledge applied to cross-functional and strategic projects. Experience building and managing bespoke finance solutions with AI; ERP migration leadership is a bonus. Demonstrated expertise in tight, predictable month-end processes, transfer pricing, and multi-entity/group consolidation. SaaS and/or fintech experience strongly preferred. Experience in regulated financial services (e-money, payments) is a strong plus. Danish language is a bonus.
**AI Competency:** Expected to work with AI-powered tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Notion AI, Langfuse, PyTorch, and Mastra. Comfort learning, experimenting, and adopting AI responsibly is essential.
