Salary: USD 180,000 - 230,000 / annual
Velaura is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead financial operations for a next-generation compute technology company focused on Physical AI, robotics, autonomous systems, and edge computing. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, with significant time in high-tech startups, ideally hardware companies.
You will oversee a small, high-performing finance and accounting team while actively engaging in day-to-day financial operations. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with company goals, leading long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, and providing actionable insights to drive business decisions and profitability.
You'll manage all accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP. You'll coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements, and manage cash flow, capital allocation, and treasury functions.
Additionally, you'll optimize internal financial systems and processes for efficiency and scalability, collaborate with leadership to evaluate and execute growth opportunities including potential M&A activities, and mentor your team to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; proven track record in senior finance leadership; strong expertise in technical accounting, financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting; in-depth knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting principles; and experience managing audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting. A hands-on approach and exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Preferred qualifications include hardware company experience, CPA, CMA, or MBA credentials. You'll work alongside experienced leaders, architects, engineers, and operators who have delivered industry-defining products across mobile, cloud, semiconductor, and AI platforms.
