MISUMI Americas is seeking a Director of Enterprise AI to own AI strategy and adoption across the organization. This is a highly visible, director-level role at the center of the company's mission to build the next-generation operating system for New Product Development using artificial intelligence, automation, and manufacturing intelligence.
You will be responsible for the enterprise AI portfolio—tools, workflow automations, and agents serving every business function. Key responsibilities include: defining the strategy and framework for discovering, evaluating, and prioritizing AI use cases across the enterprise; measuring impact by business outcomes (hours saved, risk reduced, revenue generated); establishing governance standards with architecture and product leaders for moving initiatives from prototype to production; building a structured AI champion network across functions; designing onboarding and enablement programs including prompt libraries and self-serve resources; embedding with business teams to understand workflows and identify AI opportunities; hiring and leading a small team focused on coaching champions and enabling adoption; communicating AI strategy and business impact to executive leadership; and partnering with architects on vendor and platform strategy.
You bring 12+ years of experience leading enterprises through technology and workflow transformations. You have proven success designing and running enablement or change management programs, including training rollouts, adoption campaigns, and internal champion networks. You operate effectively within technology governance frameworks and can build business cases meeting ROI, security, and architectural standards. You have firsthand, regular experience with enterprise AI tools like Claude or Copilot and are actively experimenting. You have a track record of making hard prioritization calls with executive audiences while encouraging curiosity in teams. You own full product lifecycle responsibility on ambiguous business problems from discovery through measurement and iteration, and can measure and report AI/automation impact in dollars.
The role is based in Oakland, CA, full-time, with approximately 10% travel. Salary range: $220,000–$260,000 DOE.
