Vanta is a Series D security and compliance platform on a mission to help businesses earn and prove trust. As Director of Design, you will lead the design strategy and team for Vanta's Third-Party Risk Management product area, which is central to the company's enterprise platform.
You will own the vision and execution for a highly AI-centric workflow builder that serves complex enterprise use cases in risk management. Your responsibilities include leading and mentoring a high-performing team of product designers, setting design direction for the Risk product area, and partnering cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Research, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver world-class user experiences.
Key focus areas include translating complex risk management workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences for security, compliance, IT, legal, and finance stakeholders. You'll design enterprise-grade risk registers, dashboards, reporting experiences, and workflows that give customers clear visibility into their risk posture. You'll lead customer-centered discovery and research with risk managers and security leaders to identify meaningful problems and validate solutions.
You'll establish high bars for interaction design, visual design, information architecture, accessibility, and overall product quality. You'll influence product strategy and roadmap decisions through strong design perspectives, customer insights, and compelling narratives. You'll also help shape AI-powered experiences that make risk management more proactive and actionable while applying sound judgment around trust and responsible AI use.
Success requires 10+ years designing digital products with significant B2B SaaS or enterprise software experience, plus 4+ years managing and developing product designers. You should have a track record of designing intuitive workflows for complex, data-rich products and strong product and systems thinking. Experience in risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, GRC, or regulated domains is a plus. You'll need excellent communication skills, comfort operating in ambiguity, and a collaborative leadership style.
