As Director of Customer Success, you will lead a team of 5 experienced Customer Success Managers responsible for Checkr's largest and most complex strategic accounts. You report to the Senior Director of Customer Success and are accountable for delivering exceptional value realization, fostering executive-level customer relationships, and ensuring a delightful customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a high-performing team of CSMs through recruitment, mentoring, and professional growth initiatives while fostering decentralized decision-making
- Overseeing strategic customer relationships and serving as an escalation point for critical issues, building trust-based partnerships at SVP, VP, and Director levels
- Developing and implementing strategies to maximize customer value realization, satisfaction, and retention across your portfolio
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, Support, and Executive teams to advocate for customer needs and drive continuous improvement
- Monitoring team performance metrics, managing resources effectively, and ensuring adherence to best practices while encouraging innovation
- Facilitating account expansion opportunities in collaboration with Account Management
The role is based in one of Checkr's hub locations (Denver, CO; San Francisco, CA; or Nashville, TN) with an expectation to work from the office 3+ days per week. In-office perks include lunch five times weekly, commuter stipend, and wellness amenities. A relocation stipend may be available.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Customer Success, Account Management, or related roles
- Minimum 6 years in a leadership or managerial position, preferably within HR-Tech or consumptive SaaS markets
- Demonstrated ability to simplify and solve complex problems using critical thinking and data-driven approaches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences including executives
- Known for candor, transparency, and respect; ability to work effectively across different backgrounds and cultures
- Strong drive for excellence, tenacity, optimism, and ownership mentality
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% for customer engagements and team meetings
