Robinhood is seeking a Director of Benefits to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of benefit programs for its global workforce. This is a high-visibility role within the People team, which is responsible for building systems, programs, and culture that enable employees to do their best work.
You will own the complete benefits function, including defining Robinhood's benefits philosophy from first principles rather than defaulting to market convention. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing programs across health, welfare, retirement, leave, and voluntary benefits for a global workforce; evaluating and automating benefits processes with a focus on employee experience; leading annual program reviews and vendor negotiations; monitoring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions; partnering with Legal and Finance on compliance obligations; leading benefits due diligence for M&A activity; and building and developing a high-performing benefits team.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of benefits experience with a track record of designing and implementing global programs. You should have deep expertise across health, welfare, retirement, and leave benefits in both US and international contexts. Strong analytical skills, comfort with cost modeling and ROI analysis, and fluency with AI tools are essential. M&A experience including benefits due diligence and integration is required. You must understand regulatory and compliance requirements across global jurisdictions and have a proven track record of driving process improvement and automation. Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—are critical for presenting complex topics to employees and leadership.
As a leader at Robinhood, you will be expected to drive high performance by setting clear goals, giving real-time feedback, and scaling impact through innovation. You'll hire and retain top talent by maintaining a high bar and addressing talent issues quickly and fairly. You'll create community by connecting work to purpose, removing friction, building trust and inclusion, and leading with integrity.
The role is based in Chicago, IL; Menlo Park, CA; or New York, NY, with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week. Robinhood emphasizes the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.
