The Nuclear Company is a Series A AI-enabled startup pioneering fleet-scale nuclear reactor development. The Director of Nuclear Workforce Pipeline Development will build and lead a new function focused on securing the external talent pipeline critical to the nuclear industry's current and future operations. This is a build role: the successful candidate will stand up the team, operating model, and external partnerships largely from the ground up, working closely with Services, Construction, Training, and leadership to ensure pipeline strategy aligns with real, near-term staffing needs. Key responsibilities include: Strategy & Pain-Point Diagnosis: Partner with leadership to identify the most urgent and highest-risk workforce gaps by craft, discipline, site, and time horizon. Build and maintain a workforce gap analysis/heat map that informs where pipeline investment should be prioritized. External Partnership Development: Establish durable relationships with colleges, universities, technical/trade schools, and K-12 school districts. Create sustainable pathways into nuclear careers and develop multi-year recruitment and talent development strategies. Pipeline Program Design & Execution: Design and launch programs that address identified gaps (e.g., apprenticeships, internships, curriculum partnerships, career awareness initiatives). Measure program effectiveness and iterate based on outcomes. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to translate workforce needs into pipeline requirements, ensure alignment on hiring timelines and skill requirements, and communicate progress to leadership. The company operates with an AI-first mindset, expecting all employees to leverage AI, technology, and their Nuclear Operating System (NOS) to improve quality, speed, and impact. The culture emphasizes transparency, responsibility, unity, scrappiness, and tenacity, with a foundation of trust and safety.
