Zocdoc is building the access infrastructure to make healthcare bookable wherever patients search. As Director, Lifecycle Marketing, Provider Growth, you will build the strategy, data foundation, and operating model for provider lifecycle growth—helping practices understand, adopt, and realize ongoing value from Zocdoc's expanding platform beyond the marketplace.
You will report to the VP, Provider Growth and lead the Lifecycle Marketing function while supporting Product-Led Growth (PLG) in close partnership with Product, Data Science, and other growth teams. This is a builder role: you'll set direction, hire and develop the team, and work with partners to bring the system to life.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building the Lifecycle Marketing function from the ground up: defining strategy, team design, hiring plan, roadmap, operating model, and priorities, translating them into shipped capabilities and measurable outcomes.
- Reimagining lifecycle as a continuously learning growth system with experiences that adapt to provider context, needs, intent, product behavior, and readiness—moving beyond static segmentation and fixed journeys.
- Designing how provider identity, account context, product usage, behavioral signals, and business objectives inform decisioning and next best actions, starting with actionable approaches and progressively introducing predictive or AI-enabled methods.
- Working directly with provider, account, product, and engagement data to build cohorts, investigate behavior, and diagnose drop-offs. Self-serve meaningful analysis while partnering with Data Science on deeper analyses, models, and scalable data capabilities.
- Bringing the system to life across product surfaces, email, transactional communications, push, SMS, and human interactions with Sales and Customer Success—choosing the right channel and moment.
- Ensuring each experience helps providers discover, adopt, and realize value from Zocdoc's expanding platform, with commercial growth earned through successful adoption and customer outcomes.
- Establishing a measurement framework connecting provider experiences to activation, time to activation, product use, retention, revenue per provider, and incremental business impact.
- Partnering with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Revenue Operations to improve signals, instrumentation, experimentation, and reporting.
- Recruiting, leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing Lifecycle Marketing team; setting a high bar, clarifying ownership, and building functional discipline to scale.
- Prototyping and testing new approaches, including AI-enabled decisioning, personalization, and automation, then scaling what demonstrably improves provider and business outcomes.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in lifecycle, CRM, growth, product-led, or customer marketing, with a track record of building capabilities and leading teams.
- Data-savvy and comfortable manipulating and analyzing provider, account, product, or behavioral data independently. SQL experience is an advantage; strong analytical judgment and self-serve investigation ability are essential.
- Experience building lifecycle or growth systems from the ground up, connecting customer data and decision logic to experiences, product adoption, retention, or revenue outcomes.
- Strong customer and audience judgment; ability to turn qualitative insight and behavioral data into useful decisions, experiences, and next steps.
- Ability to move between strategy and implementation—working through data, systems, and operational details while partnering closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, Analytics, or Data Science.
- Experience recruiting, developing, and organizing a team to deliver a new capability, not only inheriting and optimizing an established function.
- Ability to define clear success measures, design tests, interpret results, and distinguish activity and attribution from evidence of business impact.
- Comfortable building through ambiguity—making sound tradeoffs, creating structure, and adapting as the product portfolio, data, and customer needs evolve.
- Exceptional communicator and coach who can align senior stakeholders, give teams clarity, and help people grow.
- Experience with B2B, SaaS, marketplace, or other multi-product business models; healthcare experience is a plus.
- Explored or applied AI, automation, or decisioning tools to improve personalization, team effectiveness, or customer experiences.
