Basis is building production-grade AI agents that perform end-to-end work for major accounting firms. The company recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation with backing from top-tier investors including Khosla Ventures, Accel, and Google Ventures.
As Director of GTM Enablement, you will own the complete enablement function—the system that transforms Basis's fast-changing product and technical buyer landscape into consistent execution across AE, BDR, channel, and customer-facing teams. This is not a training calendar; it is a strategic, revenue-tied function.
Key responsibilities:
- Set enablement strategy across all sales motions (firm, in-house, CAS, tax, audit), defining what great looks like at each ramp stage and sequencing work against revenue goals.
- Own the ramp system: establish day-30, day-60, and day-90 readiness standards that managers use to assess new rep progress.
- Build the coaching layer by providing frontline managers with call standards, deal review structures, scorecards, and shared language for excellence.
- Codify the playbook: document and teach discovery, demo, and objection-handling motions from top performers; keep content current as product evolves.
- Own the enablement tech stack (platform, content library, conversation intelligence) and evaluate AI/agent workflows for rep productivity impact.
- Measure and prove enablement's impact on ramp time, win rates, and rep productivity; fund what works, cut what doesn't.
- Build and lead the enablement team (managers and program builders) as coverage expands.
You will report to the Head of GTM AI Ops, work directly with sales leadership, and operate from the NYC Flatiron office five days per week.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in sales enablement or GTM roles at B2B software companies, including experience building or running an enablement function.
- Proven experience managing and developing enablement practitioners, sales managers, or trainers.
- Strong point of view on sales methodology (MEDDICC, Command of the Message, Challenger, or equivalent) with demonstrated success implementing one in the field.
- Comfort with sales performance data; ability to set priorities from metrics and field signal rather than request volume.
- Strong standing with sales leadership; ability to push back on a VP of Sales while maintaining the relationship.
Nice-to-haves:
- Enablement experience selling accounting or finance software to the CFO office.
- Founding-enablement experience (first dedicated hire or first leader at a high-growth company).
- Hands-on use of AI in enablement (agent-built content, call scoring, coaching at scale).
- Quota-carrying background; former closers make credible coaches.
