Ping Identity, a cloud identity platform company headquartered in Denver, is seeking an experienced Director of Global Payroll to lead payroll operations across 18 countries. Reporting to the SVP Controller, this strategic leadership role oversees end-to-end global payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing across all jurisdictions while enabling an exceptional employee experience. Key responsibilities include overseeing global payroll operations across all entities; actively managing relationships with payroll managed services partners including SLA adherence, KPIs, and quarterly business reviews; developing and executing a long-term global payroll strategy focused on scalability, standardization, and process excellence; and developing a payroll automation roadmap to drive efficiency. The role leads payroll implementations and supports global geographic expansion, including new country setup, EOR management, and M&A integration activities. Leadership responsibilities involve leading and developing a high-performing global payroll team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement, and serving as an escalation point for complex payroll matters. The director collaborates closely with Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Legal, HR, Benefits, and Equity Administration teams on payroll accruals, reconciliations, equity compensation processing, financial reporting, payroll funding, cash forecasting, and employee lifecycle processes. Compliance and risk management are critical, including oversight of complex compensation elements (salary changes, bonuses, commissions, equity payments, leaves, deductions, garnishments, severance), adherence to all local, state, federal, and international laws, management of payroll tax filings and audits, year-end reporting (W-2s and international equivalents), and proactive identification and mitigation of payroll-related risks with robust internal controls. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of progressive payroll leadership with deep technical expertise in multi-state US and international payroll environments, demonstrated success leading globally dispersed teams of 5+ employees through growth and change, strong operational and problem-solving capabilities, and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
