Anthropic is seeking an experienced Director of Revenue Systems Engineering to lead the technical architecture and implementation of Order-to-Cash (OTC) systems as the company scales globally. This role owns the revenue systems platform within the ERP ecosystem, driving automation of revenue recognition processes and integrating billing, sales, and financial systems across multi-entity operations and global subsidiaries.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using DBT/SQL to transform high-volume financial transactions with low-latency response times. You will build and maintain automated revenue recognition workflows ensuring ASC 606 compliance for complex subscription and consumption-based billing models. The role involves modifying and optimizing data transformation models to support standardized data flows across accounting, billing engineering, and product teams, with comprehensive testing frameworks for data transformations and audit requirements.
You will collaborate with Revenue Accounting, Data Infrastructure, and BizTech teams to design enterprise-grade integration patterns supporting significant transaction volume growth. This includes implementing automated reconciliation engines for rapid variance detection and reducing manual revenue team effort. Technical expertise during month-end close processes ensures system reliability during peak transaction volumes.
The position emphasizes innovation and continuous improvement, including pioneering AI integration for revenue operations with intelligent agents for discrepancy investigation and automated testing. You will establish best practices with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment workflows while mentoring team members on technical best practices and documentation standards.
Required qualifications include strong technical proficiency in Python, SQL, DBT, and modern data engineering tools. Extensive experience with enterprise billing platforms and ASC 606 revenue recognition is essential. Expert-level understanding of ERP systems with hands-on configuration and integration experience, including REST/SOAP/XML APIs and ERP extension patterns, is required. Additional programming languages (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go) for building integrations and custom ERP extensions are needed. You should have a track record of leading technical workstreams during ERP transformations or major system migrations, with proven ability to design scalable integration architectures for high-volume financial transactions. Understanding of consumption-based pricing models, usage metering platforms, and marketplace billing is important. Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations, and Engineering teams are essential.
