Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company building the fastest aircraft in the world through rapid iterative prototyping and hardware innovation. The Director of Digital Transformation will own the strategy, roadmap, and effectiveness of the company's core digital platforms—including PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), ERP, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), data/BI automation, and related enterprise applications. Key responsibilities include leading the company's digital transformation agenda to identify and execute high-impact opportunities that simplify processes, reduce manual work, improve data flow, and increase scalability across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance. You will define and advance an integrated digital thread across the product lifecycle, establish clear systems of record, data ownership, enterprise architecture, and integration patterns. This role requires partnering with leaders across the organization to improve critical workflows including product definition, configuration management, procurement, manufacturing planning, production execution, and quality assurance. You will lead complex transformation initiatives from problem definition through future-state design, architecture, implementation, adoption, and measurable business outcomes. Building and leading teams, establishing operating models, governance structures, and strategic partnerships will be essential to delivering and scaling these capabilities. This includes technology and AI evaluation, vendor management, prioritization, accountability, and executive communication. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in digital transformation, enterprise systems, engineering/manufacturing systems, or enterprise architecture. You should have demonstrated success leading complex digital transformation initiatives in technical environments, strong understanding of enterprise systems ecosystems (PLM, ERP, MES, integrations, data, analytics), and proven ability to translate operational challenges into scalable processes and technical requirements. Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or advanced manufacturing is highly valued, as is familiarity with platforms like Siemens Teamcenter, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics. Knowledge of digital-thread architectures, enterprise integration, BI, and practical experience with AI and intelligent automation in manufacturing or enterprise workflows is preferred.
