Paraform is an AI-powered recruiting marketplace connecting companies with specialized recruiters and AI agents to fill roles faster and more accurately. The company 8×'d revenue last year and works with leading startups like Ramp, Decagon, Rippling, and Hightouch.
You will own new business end-to-end for Paraform's demand organization, reporting to the Head of Demand Sales and sitting as a core member of the Demand leadership team. You'll inherit a team of six to eight account executives selling into fast-growing startups and will build out management layers within a couple of quarters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own pipeline generation, deal execution, and attainment across the AE team with a high-velocity motion into seed through Series B founders; carry the number and forecast.
- Design the demand org structure, including segmentation strategy, vertical coverage decisions, headcount planning, and upmarket expansion approach.
- Build the second line of management by promoting internally where possible and hiring externally where needed; target at least one manager reporting to you within two to three quarters.
- Install a social-selling motion by building the VC-referral loop, dinner programs, and conference presence into a repeatable system.
- Move the company upmarket by transitioning from 30-day account ownership to 60–90 day windows with revenue sharing on strategic accounts.
- Partner across the business with marketing, engagement management, and product on go-to-market strategy for new products launching within six months.
The role is distinctive because the demand org's structure is genuinely undecided—you'll design segmentation, vertical coverage, and the upmarket path rather than inherit them. Additionally, the outbound motion must be rebuilt from the ground up; current AEs use cold calling and LinkedIn, but the pipeline that converts comes from VC networks, founder communities, dinners, and conferences.
Requirements:
- 7–10 years in sales with four or more years in leadership roles, showing visible progression (Manager → Senior Manager → Director or comparable arc). Evidence of rapid promotions, compounding scope, and ideally an IC-to-manager promotion within the same company is expected. Long tenure at a flat level is viewed negatively.
- Demonstrated experience managing managers or clear readiness to do so; ability to name first-time managers you've promoted, how you de-risked those bets, and what you'd do differently.
- Personal ownership of network-led outbound; ability to name specific investors you've worked with and events you've built pipeline from. Pipeline sourced primarily from marketing or SDR-style cold calling without a network layer is not the right fit.
- Track record of building a playbook from scratch, running it yourself, and scaling it through a team with measurable evidence of success.
- Strong analytical instincts; ability to ask precise data questions, validate findings, and design hypothesis-driven interventions when metrics are off. SQL writing not required.
- Genuine curiosity about Paraform's marketplace model (distinct from straight-line SaaS); willingness to ask sharp questions and push back constructively in early conversations.
- Non-linear background preferred: founders who scaled inside real organizations, athletes, academics, ex-finance operators, or anyone with a pattern of deliberately choosing unusual businesses.
Nice to have: experience with multi-product platforms or fintech selling to startups (Rippling, Ramp, Brex, Mercury, Vanta, etc.); ex-investment banking or consulting background before startup sales.
