Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that simplifies asset ownership and management, starting with car insurance and expanding into home, motorcycle, and other physical assets. The company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024.
As Director of Business Operations & Partnerships, you will own the end-to-end partnerships motion for Jerry's new product lines, reporting directly to the VP of Partnerships. This is a high-impact role building the supply side of the marketplace and unlocking new lines of business through strategic partnerships with insurance carriers and distribution partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and running the partnerships pipeline for new product verticals from initial outreach through signed agreement and successful onboarding
- Leading insurance carrier and partner conversations independently, qualifying fit, understanding partner needs, and structuring value propositions
- Designing creative deal structures for non-standard partners, finding alternative arrangements when conventional approaches don't work
- Owning partner success post-close, ensuring new partners ramp effectively and become long-term relationships
- Contributing to vertical strategy by feeding ground-level partner insights into product sequencing and structuring decisions
The role operates in a lean, flat organization with heavy cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership. You'll work on complex, multi-month deal cycles with significant ambiguity—there is no existing playbook for the newer verticals, so you'll be scoping what to build rather than executing a proven formula.
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Experience building 0-to-1: launching a new partnership category, entering a new market, or building a BD function from scratch
- Background combining at least two of: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, or early-stage startup operating experience
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior external stakeholders and navigate large partner organizations independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present complex deal structures simply and credibly to executives
Ideal candidate profile: truth-seeking, creative problem-solver, meticulous about details, builder who breaks ambiguous problems into clear steps and drives them to completion.
