Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is at a unique inflection point—early enough to shape product, process, and culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and gaining momentum. The People team is a core business enabler with broad visibility across the company. This Director role leads the Benefits & Wellness function with four key areas of responsibility: **Benefits Strategy & Self-Insured Transition**: Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of transitioning from a fully insured to a self-insured medical plan. Partner with consultants, Finance, and Legal to evaluate financial exposure, plan design, and claims projections. Own the plan's ongoing financial and operational performance, including claims monitoring, forecasting, utilization analysis, vendor performance, and early identification of cost and risk trends. **Benefits, Wellbeing & Perks**: Build wellbeing and perks programs with clear objectives and success metrics. Regularly evaluate utilization, cost, employee feedback, and market practice to decide where to invest, change course, or discontinue. Lead benefits communications and education so employees understand and use their programs. **Analytics & Financial Management**: Develop a comprehensive view of benefits performance and establish metrics showing costs and return on investment. Build financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for significant decisions in partnership with Finance. **Leave, Accommodations & Workers' Compensation**: Oversee leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and workers' compensation programs, ensuring compliance with internal policy and applicable laws. Lead the team managing these programs. The role requires moving fluidly between strategy and execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll collaborate across departments, shape decisions, and see your work directly impact the company's scaling. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of progressive benefits experience with significant ownership of health and welfare programs - Direct experience managing self-insured medical plans (required); leading or playing a major role in a fully insured-to-self-insured transition (strongly preferred) - Strong analytical and financial skills, with hands-on experience analyzing medical and pharmacy claims, utilization, and healthcare trends - Ability to build financial models and business cases in partnership with Finance - Strong command of plan design, stop-loss, TPAs, PBMs, consultants, and healthcare cost management - Experience leading complex renewals, implementations, and vendor negotiations **Nice to haves:** - Hands-on leadership style with sound judgment balancing employee experience, compliance, and financial stewardship - Direct experience managing a team - Strong working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA - Significant experience with leave, disability, accommodation, and workers' compensation programs - Experience with benefits across multiple populations or sites
