Horizon3.ai, a fast-growing remote cybersecurity company, is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead financial reporting integrity, accounting conclusions, and the control environment. The company's flagship NodeZero platform delivers autonomous pentests and security assessments at scale for organizations ranging from educational institutions to Global 100 enterprises.
This strategic role sits above close execution and provides final accounting leadership over reporting quality, policy interpretation, and enterprise-level accounting matters. The Director of Accounting will ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of monthly financial reporting packages and overall financial statement presentation. Key responsibilities include reviewing complex account reconciliations and close deliverables, owning significant accounting estimates and judgments, and providing accounting guidance on significant transactions and unusual issues.
The role partners with external auditors on audit planning and financial statement reviews, oversees preparation of annual audited financial statements and disclosures, and ensures audit readiness through proactive management of accounting documentation and controls. The Director will oversee accounting policy application, reporting structure decisions, and chart of accounts governance while driving cross-functional accounting risk management by identifying dependencies and surfacing issues early.
Additionally, this position maintains authority over accounting systems governance, including ERP role design, access reviews, and administrative accounting permissions. The Director will build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and scalable team design, establishing clear ownership and accountability across the accounting organization. The role partners with Finance, Legal, Revenue Operations, Tax, and business leaders to evaluate accounting implications of new products, contracts, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives, providing leadership for company scaling and operational transformation efforts.
