Okta is seeking a Digital Media Specialist to drive localized digital marketing programs across Japan. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on translating global marketing strategies into culturally resonant, high-converting campaigns for the Japanese B2B tech market.
You will own the execution and optimization of paid media programs including Search, Social, and Display advertising, ensuring linguistic precision and alignment with Japanese business practices. You'll leverage generative AI and marketing automation tools to accelerate campaign localization, content variation, and creative testing at velocity.
Key responsibilities include implementing region-specific SEO and generative engine optimization strategies to maximize organic visibility across traditional search engines and AI chatbot platforms in Japan. You'll act as the primary paid media liaison for Japan, collaborating with the broader APJ regional marketing team to share data-backed insights and adapt global campaigns for local success.
You will monitor the lead lifecycle from initial digital inquiry through Sales Development handover, implementing rigorous quality assurance to maintain brand compliance across all Japanese touchpoints. This role requires resourceful problem-solving, including management of local vendor relationships and optimization of internal marketing technology stacks.
Required qualifications include 2–5 years of hands-on digital marketing, demand generation, or campaign execution experience specifically within the Japanese B2B tech landscape. You must have native-level fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English. Deep knowledge of Japanese business culture, digital consumption habits, and enterprise buying cycles is essential.
You should be comfortable with modern marketing platforms (Salesforce, Marketo, Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager) and demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to track performance metrics, cost-per-acquisition, and continuously optimize campaign spend. An AI-first mindset and eagerness to adopt new workflows is required. This role demands grit, tenacity, and a self-starting nature to scale localized programs efficiently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
