EVERSANA is a global commercialization services company serving the life sciences industry, with 6,000+ employees and 650+ clients ranging from biotech startups to established pharmaceutical companies. This remote field-based Diagnostic Specialist role is based in New York State and focuses on genetic testing and rare disease diagnostics.
As a Diagnostic Specialist, you will serve as a field-based diagnostic leader responsible for educating healthcare providers on genetic testing initiatives and programs. You will establish deep diagnostic expertise aligned with global diagnostic strategy for your assigned U.S. region, with a focus on inherited retinal disease (IRD) and ophthalmology.
Key responsibilities include:
**Genotyping & Diagnostic Leadership**: Educate healthcare providers on genetic testing to execute client efforts in raising awareness of sponsored testing programs. Identify educational needs within the IRD healthcare community and provide education on genetic labs performing high-quality gene analysis with appropriate IRD panels and accurate result interpretation.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Partner compliantly with cross-functional teams within client organizations and contribute to ongoing development and implementation of U.S. diagnostic strategy.
**Stakeholder Education & Advocacy**: Identify potential Genetic Testing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) with educational needs, provide awareness to healthcare providers, attend conferences to learn diagnostic programs, and participate in compliant advocacy and outreach with local organizations. Deliver high-quality education to HCPs and internal partner labs, provide expertise on IRD gene panels and best practices for test requisition forms.

Required qualifications: BA/BS degree (healthcare degree strongly preferred: MS, RN, PA, PharmD, PhD); minimum 7+ years pharma/biotech experience in commercial, clinical/medical, or diagnostics; proven success in high-performing diverse teams; experience collaborating with KOLs, labs, and stakeholders; prior experience in rare or ultra-rare diseases with strong patient focus preferred; diagnostic and scientific acumen; strategic thinking and operational capability; ability to succeed in matrixed environments; persistence, resilience, and achievement orientation; excellent communication and presentation skills; cross-functional capability and strong ethical standards; knowledge of ophthalmology strongly preferred.
Extensive travel required throughout New York State via car, plane, and train. Must be comfortable with modern electronic hardware and AI tools including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.
