Upgrade is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join the team and lead end-to-end quality assurance for a new banking product. You will validate a variety of products through automation and functional testing to deliver a seamless banking experience to customers.
In this role, you will work directly with product teams, participate in application specification reviews and architectural design sessions, and contribute quality perspectives. You will establish test strategies for various features and develop a deep understanding of delivering high-performance software at development velocity. You will operate in an environment that fosters ownership at all levels, including production application configuration and monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop test automation in Java using Selenium/Playwright at the pace of feature development, leveraging AI tools and functional/performance testing frameworks
- Use large language models (LLMs) to create feature test plans and internal knowledge bases to facilitate AI tool usage for automation and deep testing efforts
- Define custom AI workflows enabling all developers to test new features using existing automation tests, evaluate test failures, and resolve environment issues
- Execute functional and performance tests by deploying disposable environments on-demand to provision microservices with different versions and configurations, and customize database content
- Customize, configure, and patch services; deploy infrastructure and code changes to production
- Analyze log files and troubleshoot production issues by automating and reproducing them in non-production environments
- Collaborate with the QA platform team to create feature validation and test automation solutions for your product

REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to develop test automation in Java using Selenium/Playwright with IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse, with or without coding assistants
- Experience deploying services in various environments such as Kubernetes using deployment tools like ArgoCD and Jenkins
- Ability to improve efficiency of existing test infrastructure using Docker, Playwright, and headless browser execution
- Knowledge of log aggregators such as SumoLogic or Kibana, and application monitoring tools such as Honeycomb or Grafana
- Passion for test automation and delivering high-quality features in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with Agile methodology
- English language proficiency required for interactions with Upgrade staff worldwide
