Datadog is seeking a Developer Advocate for Service Management in the EMEA region. This role bridges engineering expertise and community engagement, focusing on incident response, on-call management, and operational automation. You will act as a subject matter expert for Datadog's service management capabilities (incident response, on-call, IDP, Work Management, Workflow Automation, Agent Builder, and operational automation), working with both advocacy and engineering teams. Your responsibilities include creating compelling content across multiple mediums—demos, public speaking, blog posts, documentation, webinars, open-source contributions, and research reports—to establish Datadog as a leader in DevOps, monitoring, observability, and security. You will partner with product engineering teams to build demos and coach internal teams on effective communication and presentation skills. You'll interface with open-source communities to drive key messaging and develop new integrations. Additionally, you'll contribute directly to the product through feedback, documentation, or code contributions. REQUIREMENTS: - Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Developer with hands-on experience as an on-call/incident responder and running production systems in complex IT environments - Strong understanding of core service-management practices (incident response, on-call, post-incident reviews, SLOs) using tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io, Rootly, Jira Cloud Platform, Cortex, or similar - Passion for helping teams solve organizational and technical challenges at their intersection, with demonstrated knowledge sharing - Approximately 2+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content (written content, conference speaking at SREcon/DevOpsDays/SREday, workshops, live streaming, video recording, open-source contributions, community events) - Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or presentation recordings on technical topics - Comfort with at least one scripting/programming language (Node.js, Python, Go, bash) and familiarity with APIs, IaaS cloud services, and containers - Self-driven approach to exploring and learning new technologies and languages BONUS: - Hands-on ITSM platform experience (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) - Active membership in SRE, DevOps, or incident-response communities
