Cloudflare is seeking a Detection & Mitigation Engineer to join Cloudforce One, the company's threat operations and research team. In this role, you will identify, track, and defeat sophisticated threats and abuse across Cloudflare's global platform, which powers millions of websites and internet properties. You will examine and mitigate threats in real-time, leveraging emerging technologies to build detections that protect millions of people from various forms of attacks and abuse.
Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing attacker Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to protect Cloudflare's global customer base, working collaboratively with team members to develop innovative detection and mitigation strategies, and synthesizing technical findings into actionable threat intelligence. You will operate at the intersection of data analysis and cybersecurity, examining metadata, network traffic, and other data points from one of the world's largest global networks to identify and stop adversaries.
Desirable qualifications include experience in data analysis, metadata analysis, or network traffic analysis; proficiency with SQL and ability to write complex queries; Python or other scripting experience; understanding of the cyber threat landscape and threat actor techniques; experience tracking cyber campaigns using technical Indicators of Compromise (IOCs); familiarity with comprehensive data analysis platforms and rule configuration; and the ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and executive-level stakeholders in clear, actionable formats.
