LatchBio builds benchmarks that evaluate whether frontier AI can perform computational biology tasks. The company provides benchmarks.bio, a platform used by pharma, biotech, and AI solution providers to test and improve their AI systems. You will design and build the experiences researchers use to understand, run, and contribute to benchmarks. This includes both internal tools for the team to build tasks and the public-facing platform where the scientific community engages with the work. You'll shape how researchers interact with AI performance data and how benchmarks are presented to the world. Responsibilities span product design and frontend engineering: complex product workflows, interaction and visual design, frontend systems, developer and user experience, and the company website. You'll work on a small team with significant autonomy over direction and problem selection. Tasks include understanding and improving complex workflows, identifying usability issues, developing interaction patterns, and designing and implementing features from concept through production. You'll also design and build pages for benchmark launches, product announcements, and marketing needs, translating technical ideas into polished web experiences. The role is ideal for someone who cares equally about functionality, aesthetics, and code quality. You'll move fluidly between design and implementation, identify meaningful product problems, work through ambiguity, and iterate quickly. You'll collaborate with a small engineering team (Aidan, Ryan, Anirudh, Joel, Tim), product leads (Hannah, Nathan), and the founding team, alongside 60+ bioengineers and AI biologists.
