Linear is hiring a Design Engineer to join the Magic Team, their internal creative agency. You'll help communicate Linear's story and vision through web and brand initiatives. Linear is a product development platform used by 40,000+ companies including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp. The company is distributed globally and founded in 2019.
In this role, you will build complex, interactive UI web and app experiences that balance both aesthetics and functionality. You'll be responsible for creating beautiful, responsive websites, landing pages, and internal tools. A key part of the work involves implementing creative animations and interactions in code, exploring visual design in Figma, and translating those designs into web-native experiences. You'll work on projects where speed, interactions, and small details matter—core to Linear's developer-tool philosophy.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong eye for good design
- Strong frontend engineering skills
- Proven experience building end-to-end websites and landing pages
- Proficiency with React and TypeScript
- Experience using agentic coding tools as part of the design process (from exploring ideas to building production-quality interactions)
- Portfolio or Twitter profile demonstrating a range of technical skills, creative use of code, and prototyping abilities
