Baseten is a Series F AI infrastructure company ($1.5B valuation) that powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies like Cursor, Notion, Abridge, and Writer. The company provides applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and developer tooling to help frontier AI companies bring cutting-edge models into production.
You'll own the design and frontend implementation of baseten.co, treating the marketing website as a living product rather than a static asset. This is a high-ownership role sitting between brand design and frontend engineering, with significant autonomy to ship while collaborating with brand, product marketing, engineering, and leadership on major launches.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build landing pages, product pages, and campaign pages from concept through production
- Continuously improve the site by identifying and acting on opportunities without waiting for redesign cycles
- Partner with growth and product marketing to test messaging, layouts, and conversion improvements
- Build polished interactions, motion, and micro-interactions that express the Baseten brand distinctly
- Develop and evolve reusable components, patterns, and design systems
- Translate complex technical products into clear, compelling web experiences
- Prototype ambitious interactive and experimental ideas for launches
- Empower brand and marketing teams to ship great work efficiently
- Set the bar for web design and frontend craft across the company
Required skills: fluency in React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript; ability to move from Figma to production code; deep attention to typography, layout, interaction, motion, and responsiveness; systems thinking for component-based design; comfort with experimentation and data-driven iteration; ability to make technical concepts clear without oversimplifying.
Nice-to-have skills include motion design, animation, WebGL, Three.js, React Three Fiber, shaders, creative coding, or experience building developer-focused websites.
