Lead Bank is a banking infrastructure platform that enables fintechs to offer compliant, programmable financial services including payments, lending, and digital assets at scale. The company operates as an API-first, developer-focused partner bank with offices in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and New York City, plus an FDIC-insured bank in Kansas City.
The Deposits Compliance Analyst will join Lead's Compliance team, which takes a solutions-oriented approach to regulatory oversight—focusing on finding practical paths forward rather than simply blocking initiatives. The team works closely with Legal, Risk, and Audit to ensure partner programs operate in alignment with regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will conduct day-to-day due diligence, monitoring, and review related to the Bank's fintech partner programs. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the Deposits Compliance team, business lines, and fintech partners to ensure accurate implementation of controls and processes meeting regulatory requirements
- Maintain proficient knowledge of the Compliance Management System (CMS) elements, including policies, procedures, escalation and reporting, complaint handling, and audit management
- Review business unit and fintech partner policies, procedures, and marketing materials for regulatory adherence and recommend changes based on identified risks or regulatory changes
- Monitor partner compliance controls and key risk indicators to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation
- Assist business units and fintech partners in developing action plans and corrective actions for monitoring findings
- Build effective working relationships across departments, business units, and fintech partners
- Serve as a resource to business units on consumer protection laws and regulations related to payments (debit/prepaid cards, checks, ACH, wires, instant payments)
- Demonstrate Lead Bank values and set a personal example for team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
This is a unique opportunity to play a foundational role in building and implementing Lead's forward-thinking compliance strategy in a fast-paced, innovative fintech environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1–3 years' banking experience
- Knowledge and experience with Compliance Management System (CMS) elements: policies and procedures, escalation and reporting, complaint handling, trend analysis, exam and audit management
- Understanding of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance including UDAAP, FTC Guidelines, Reg E, Reg CC, Nacha Rules, Visa/Mastercard Rules, and federal consumer protection legislation
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to make sound judgments quickly based on available information
- Ability to work and complete tasks independently with minimal direct supervision
- Eager to learn and achieve proficiency
- Curious mindset with humility and openness to learning; growth-oriented approach
- Ability to thrive in a fluid environment with high autonomy
- Collaborative approach focused on efficient outcomes
- Self-driven, self-starter mentality
