HappyRobot is an AI infrastructure platform enabling enterprises to build and orchestrate autonomous AI workforces. The company, backed by a16z, Y Combinator (S23), Base10, Prysm Capital, and Eurazeo with over $200M raised, provides battle-tested AI agents that make decisions, take action, and run operations autonomously across enterprise systems.
As a Deployment Strategist, you will partner with Forward Deployed Engineers across the full deployment lifecycle, from initial discovery through production. You'll lead use case discovery and scoping with senior customer stakeholders, build prototypes hands-on to prove value early, and stay close to implementation to ensure strategic alignment with business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership & Use Case Discovery: Partner with C-level executives and VPs to assess AI opportunities and identify highest-impact use cases. Lead discovery conversations that surface workflows where AI creates maximum business value, building trusted relationships to present findings and challenge assumptions at senior levels.
- Scoping: Frame impact versus effort with rigor. Pressure-test business value, question whether the proposed use case will deliver maximum impact, and explore reframing opportunities. Map integrations, data, and platform constraints to land on realistic timelines.
- Prototyping: Build prototypes and demos hands-on using the platform and AI-powered coding tools to test ideas end-to-end at light scope, proving value before customer commitment.
- Program Management: Coordinate work across active deployments in an account. Serve as escalation point and watchout partner, staying close enough to spot opportunities to capture more value and catch drift from high-impact paths.
- Prioritization: Sequence use cases within accounts so each deployment compounds the next. Make calls on what gets built when and where to invest discovery time.
- Customer Partnership: Be the main business-side point of contact. Build trust with operational and executive stakeholders. Translate AI capabilities into actionable language.
- Onsite Embedding: Travel onsite for kickoffs, mapping sessions, and key moments where physical presence changes outcomes.
- Product Feedback Loop: Bring field signal back to Product and Engineering. Identify reusable patterns and platform evolution needs.
The company operates with no role seniority or hierarchy, functioning as a team of builders focused on execution, ownership, and deep customer success.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Comfortable coding, primarily Python, using LLMs and AI-powered tools like Claude Code to ship prototypes fast.
- Working understanding of APIs, integrations, and how AI agents sit inside enterprise workflows.
- Strategic instinct: ability to spot business value behind workflows and translate into impact, effort, and prioritization terms for C-level audiences.
- Excellent communication skills with both executives and operators. Comfortable translating between business and technical domains.
- Proven ability to prioritize ruthlessly across multiple workstreams and drive outcomes, not just activity.
- Founder mindset: highly independent, takes ownership, thrives in fast-paced environments.
