Flow is a systems engineering platform for hardware teams, backed by Sequoia, used by companies like Rivian to manage requirements, interfaces, tests, and design decisions in a unified system.
As one of Flow's first Deployment Strategists, you will own end-to-end deployments for a portfolio of accounts. Your mission is to transform signed deals into sustained, organization-wide usage. Flow functions as a system of record—partial adoption creates competing sources of truth and destroys value—so you'll drive the organizational change required to make adoption stick.
You will:
- Run deployments end-to-end: kickoff, migration from legacy tools and spreadsheets, configuration, workflow redesign, training, and adoption measurement
- Drive organizational change inside customer engineering teams: identify champions, remove blockers, and ensure adoption persists after you leave
- Define success metrics for each deployment, instrument adoption tracking, diagnose stalls, and execute recovery plans before renewal risk emerges
- Design each customer's Flow configuration around their actual program structure and direct integration work with software-focused deployment engineers
- Serve as the product team's field intelligence: your observations directly shape the product roadmap
- Partner with sales representatives and account executives on the commercial side and expansion opportunities
- Help establish deployment methodology: build playbooks, implementation guides, and training materials for future team members
You will work at the intersection of sales, engineering, and customer operations, translating between systems engineers, hardware engineers, and executives. This is an early-stage function being built now, so the methodology you develop becomes the playbook for future hires.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated success making organizational change stick (you can tell the story of how)
- Real customer-facing work experience: you've owned relationships with customers, clients, or external partners professionally in pre-sales, post-sales, deployment, consulting, or customer-facing engineering roles
- Consultative approach: you diagnose before prescribing; people trust you quickly, including skeptics
- Technical fluency: comfortable with data migration, configuration, APIs at a working level; can hold your own in rooms with systems and hardware engineers
- Program management capability: you run multi-team rollouts with clear planning, milestones, stakeholder management, crisp written status, and no dropped threads
- Hardware engineering background preferred: ideally you started on hardware engineering programs and found you'd rather work across many customers
- Willingness to work in-person in SF and embrace early-stage ambiguity and ownership
