Cognite is seeking an experienced Academy Engineer to design and deliver technical training that helps customers, partners, and internal teams adopt and scale Cognite's industrial AI and data solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise in data engineering and data science with instructional design and training delivery.
You will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams to identify learning gaps and translate complex Cognite technology into engaging, practical learning experiences. Responsibilities include developing deep expertise in Cognite Data Fusion and the broader product portfolio, creating high-quality technical training content for diverse audiences (from beginners to experienced data engineers and solution architects), and designing a variety of learning assets including self-paced e-learning, instructor-led training, hands-on labs, technical demonstrations, assessments, workshops, and technical documentation.
Key responsibilities span technical subject matter expertise—partnering with internal SMEs to understand product capabilities and real-world implementation requirements, identifying knowledge gaps, and contributing to curriculum roadmap recommendations—and training content development, where you'll design courses, create learning assets, translate complex technical concepts into accessible content, and develop hands-on exercises and labs that enable learners to apply knowledge practically.
You will also deliver training through various formats (instructor-led sessions, webinars, workshops), gather feedback from learners and stakeholders, continuously validate and refresh content as products and best practices evolve, and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate combines the mindset of a technical consultant and educator, comfortable working hands-on with technology, presenting to technical professionals, creating learning content, and continuously learning new products and technologies. This is a highly collaborative role with significant ownership—you will help shape what is taught, how it is taught, and how learners demonstrate their ability to apply it.
