SeedLegals is a Series A legaltech company providing automated legal solutions for startups across the UK, France, and Ireland. The company has served over 50,000 companies and facilitated over £1.5 billion in startup fundraising since 2016. You will join the Customer Experience team in the R&D Tax Credits division, supporting UK startups with their R&D tax credit claims. The role combines customer-facing support with technical tax expertise. You'll guide companies on R&D eligibility, respond to daily queries via email and video calls, help build robust R&D tax credit claims, draft Technical Narratives, review financial accounts, and collaborate closely with the R&D team and tax specialists. The ideal candidate has an accountancy, tax, or finance background—either from an accounting firm or a relevant degree—but seeks an alternative to traditional accounting career paths. You should have strong knowledge of financial statements, tax computations, financial planning, and tax incentives for founders and early-stage employees. A genuine passion for entrepreneurship and innovation is essential, as you'll interact with startup founders daily. Beneficial experience includes prior R&D Tax Credits work, interest in science or tech industries, technical knowledge (e.g., software development), familiarity with bookkeeping software (Xero, QuickBooks), and report-writing skills. The company offers hybrid working with a £250 work-from-home allowance, private healthcare, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off, share options after one year, pension, 3 volunteer days annually, monthly wellbeing allowance, cycle-to-work scheme, annual L&D budget, and free office lunch weekly. The interview process includes a 30-minute video call with a written task, a 1-hour manager interview, a 30-minute chat with the Head of Customer Experience, and a 30-minute conversation with the CEO.
