Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products to enterprise customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. As a Credit Risk Analyst in the Chicago office, you will join a growing team responsible for evaluating, managing, and scaling credit risk across Adyen's expanding suite of financial products, including lending to SMBs and enterprise customers.
Your responsibilities will include performing credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring for various financial products, analyzing the impact of business models, industry trends, and macroeconomic developments on credit portfolios, and developing credit risk strategies to enhance portfolio performance while maintaining alignment with risk appetite. You will drive continuous improvement of Adyen's global and US-specific credit risk underwriting and monitoring frameworks, including policies, procedures, and practices.
You will provide credit risk expertise to cross-functional stakeholders including Commercial, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure credit risk is properly considered in new product developments. A key part of this role involves identifying manual steps in underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and credit decisioning workflows that are candidates for AI-driven automation, and developing documentation and governance frameworks for automated decisions to ensure transparency, auditability, and regulatory alignment.
The Credit Risk team is in an early stage of its growth journey, offering significant opportunities to shape processes, influence product direction, and grow alongside the business. You will work with an international, diverse team that values ownership, pragmatism, and collaboration across regions and cultures. The ideal candidate combines strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and deep financial expertise to deliver thoughtful risk assessments and contribute to strategic recommendations on credit policies and frameworks.
