Adyen is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to lead US and international tax strategy for the fintech platform. Based in San Francisco and reporting to the Global Head of Direct Tax & Transfer Pricing, you will serve as the strategic bridge between North American operations and Amsterdam headquarters.
Key responsibilities include: developing and implementing global tax frameworks while managing day-to-day North American direct tax operations; driving federal corporate income and withholding tax strategy; managing US branch permanent establishment (PE) profit attribution strategies and documentation; advising on tax implications of new financial products and payment solutions; tracking US, Canadian, and international tax legislation changes; managing North American federal tax audits and transfer pricing coordination; and translating complex tax concepts for cross-functional partners in Product, Finance, Legal, and Country Management.
A core focus involves partnering with Head Office to determine Effectively Connected Income (ECI) and apply profit attribution rules for banking branch permanent establishments, rather than traditional transfer pricing.
You bring 6+ years of proven experience in US corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, branch taxation, and PE profit attribution. Banking and branch taxation experience is preferred, as is knowledge of the intersection between State and Local Tax (SALT) and Federal tax. You thrive in rapidly changing digital environments, ideally with in-house experience at financial institutions or tech platforms. You view tax as a strategic enabler aligned with fintech innovation, love process automation, and excel at both autonomous ownership and collaborative teamwork. You are open to expanding scope over time into sales tax, global corporate tax, or transfer pricing projects.
Adyen operates as an office-first company with expectations to work in-office at least 3 days per week on average.
