As Director of Corporate Communications, you will own the narrative positioning XBOW as the defining force in autonomous offensive cybersecurity. This is a high-visibility, strategic role reporting to leadership at a pivotal growth moment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communications strategy across all channels to amplify brand, mission, and market leadership
- Own media relations end-to-end: build relationships with top-tier technology, security, and business press to secure consistent, high-quality coverage
- Develop and execute analyst relations strategy positioning XBOW as category leader; orchestrate analyst briefings and inquiries
- Partner with CEO and executive team to develop thought leadership content including bylines, speaking submissions, and public narratives
- Lead crisis communications planning and response with clarity, credibility, and speed
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Sales on messaging alignment for product launches, funding milestones, and key company moments
- Establish and track communications KPIs (share of voice, media sentiment, analyst coverage, brand awareness)
You are a skilled storyteller who translates complex technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences. You have established relationships with journalists and editors across major publications and are comfortable working directly with senior leadership. You thrive in fast-paced startup environments, managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders with sound judgment under pressure.
You are an advanced daily generative AI user, creating and optimizing communications while maintaining high standards for taste and the human touch.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years of corporate B2B SaaS communications experience in fast-paced technology or cybersecurity companies or agencies
- 5+ years of communications experience catering to developers, application security professionals, and CISOs
- 5+ years in cybersecurity, AI, or deep-tech sectors with understanding of threat landscape and security buyer mindset
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
- Established relationships with journalists and editors; track record of securing meaningful media placements
- Experience in executive communications and working directly with senior leadership
- Highly organized and self-directed; ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing sensitive communications and reputational issues with sound judgment
- Advanced daily generative AI user
BONUS:
- Existing relationships with security-focused media outlets, industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester), and conference organizers
- Experience supporting communications around venture funding rounds, acquisitions, or high-stakes corporate milestones
- Familiarity with AI-powered communications tools and enthusiasm for integrating emerging technology
- Familiarity with bug bounty programs, penetration testing, and embedding security in developer workflows
