Slip Robotics is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations for a fast-growing autonomous robotics and logistics automation company. You will own the complete accounting function end-to-end: monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles; revenue recognition for RaaS (Robotics-as-a-Service) contracts under ASC 606 and 842; fleet accounting including capitalization, depreciation, refurbishment, and disposition; inventory accounting with standard costing and E&O reserves; and multi-entity consolidation as the Mexico subsidiary scales.
Key responsibilities include establishing and documenting revenue recognition policies for service contracts with deployment, billing-suspension, and modification treatments; building and maintaining the internal control environment toward audit-readiness; managing the external audit relationship; owning the accounting workstream of an ERP transition (NetSuite preferred); and managing and developing a Staff Accountant. You will partner closely with the Director of Finance on FP&A and with Operations on inventory and fleet accounting matters.
The role requires 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years owning a close cycle, ideally as Controller or Assistant Controller in hardware, manufacturing, or asset-intensive companies. CPA certification is required. You must demonstrate deep GAAP fluency in revenue recognition and fixed-asset accounting, with cost accounting experience in inventory-carrying businesses. Experience building or substantially upgrading close processes and internal controls is essential. ERP proficiency at the administration level (NetSuite strongly preferred) is required.
Preferred qualifications include RaaS, leasing, or equipment-as-a-service revenue recognition experience; multi-entity and international consolidation experience, especially with Mexico operations; IPO-readiness or public-company reporting experience; ERP migration experience; and background in startup or scale-up environments where control environments were built from the ground up. Public accounting foundation with Big 4 or national firm experience is preferred.
