As Corporate Controller, you will lead the accounting function through a critical growth phase, owning the monthly and quarterly close and consolidation while delivering timely, accurate financials in accordance with US GAAP. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and detailed execution in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment. Key responsibilities include building and mentoring a high-performing accounting team as the organization scales; leading external audits and managing relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and third parties; owning tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions; and driving the implementation and optimization of an ERP system, including end-to-end configuration of GL, AP, AR, Inventory, Work Order/Cost of Goods, consolidation, and reporting structures. You will establish and maintain strong internal controls and scalable, well-documented accounting processes, lead cross-functional initiatives such as Travel & Expense rollout and payroll automation, and partner with FP&A, operations, program management, and leadership to align finance with broader business objectives. Required qualifications include CPA certification and 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with controller-level leadership. Manufacturing or hardware accounting experience (inventory, standard costing, BOMs, WIP) is essential, as is experience taking a company through audit readiness and implementing ASC 606 Revenue Recognition. Hands-on ERP implementation experience is strongly preferred, along with a proven track record of building teams, processes, and controls in high-growth or scaling companies. Nice-to-have qualifications include government contracting experience with FAR/DFARS knowledge, project and cost accounting for programs and contracts, space/aerospace/defense industry exposure, and DCAA-compliant accounting system experience including incurred cost submissions. The role is based in Los Angeles with an expectation of 4 days in office and 1 day remote. The position reports to the CFO/VP Finance and involves early morning start times (around 7:00 a.m. Pacific) due to coordination with an East Coast team.
