Salary: USD 150,000 - 170,000 / annual
Funnel Leasing, a proptech SaaS company, is seeking a Controller to lead all accounting operations and financial strategy. This hybrid role is based in the Odessa, FL headquarters with flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, requiring 1-2 days per week on-site commute from the Tampa Bay area.
Key responsibilities include overseeing accurate financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual statements per GAAP), managing the external audit process, and providing strategic financial guidance to the SVP of Finance and executive leadership. You will supervise and mentor an accounting team of 3-4 people, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, payroll, and M&Q accounting. You'll own the company's tax strategy (income and sales taxes), manage relationships with external tax firms and Avalara, and implement strong internal controls and treasury functions.
Additional scope includes designing and scaling finance systems, leading accounting integration during acquisitions (approximately one per year), participating in budgeting and long-term financial planning, and evaluating the financial impact of business decisions. You'll identify continuous process improvements and automation opportunities across accounting operations.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree, CPA license (active or inactive), 7+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated role progression, and advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets. Public accounting and SaaS experience are strongly preferred. Familiarity with QBO, Chargebee, RevRec, Teampay, Avalara, and Zuora is valued.
