Patlytics is an AI-native patent intelligence platform backed by Google's Gradient Ventures, Next47, and 8VC. The company has raised $21 million in nine months and is trusted by Fortune 500 companies and leading law firms including Quinn Emanuel, Google, Koch Industries, Xerox, and Foley & Lardner.
You will own Patlytics' external voice and content strategy across all channels: social media, PR, communications, thought leadership, customer stories, and campaigns. This role sits at the intersection of content, social, communications, and PR—not a traditional blog-and-whitepaper function, but rather building attention through sharp social content, strong executive voices, earned media, timely commentary, and compelling customer narratives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning content strategy and external voice across social, communications, PR, thought leadership, and editorial content
- Managing Patlytics' social presence end-to-end (strategy, creation, publishing, engagement, performance) on LinkedIn and other priority channels
- Building a recognizable social presence through POVs, product stories, customer moments, company news, short-form video, and creative campaigns
- Developing and amplifying executive social and thought leadership with founders and leadership
- Owning external communications and PR around product launches, funding, partnerships, customer wins, and company milestones
- Building relationships with reporters, editors, podcasts, newsletters, analysts, and influential voices in technology, AI, legal, and business
- Identifying stories, trends, and timely opportunities for Patlytics to enter conversations and earn attention
- Developing Patlytics' broader messaging and narrative for consistency across all external channels
- Creating high-impact content across social posts, video, customer stories, case studies, newsletters, campaigns, blogs, and events
- Repurposing strong ideas and launches into multiple content pieces across channels
- Developing rapid-response content around relevant AI, legal, patent, and technology news
- Partnering with Growth on distribution, demand generation, and pipeline support, including SEO and AEO priorities
- Maximizing conference and company event moments through coordinated content
- Managing PR agencies, freelancers, creators, designers, and external resources
- Measuring performance across social growth, engagement, share of voice, earned media, executive reach, organic discovery, target-account engagement, and influenced pipeline
You'll work directly with the VP of Marketing, founders, executives, customers, Product, Sales, and the broader GTM team. Success is measured by establishing a distinctive external voice, building a repeatable content engine, growing social reach and engagement, developing recognizable executive voices, increasing earned media, and consistently participating in relevant industry conversations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, social, communications, PR, or a combination of these functions, ideally within B2B technology
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats: social posts, executive bylines, customer stories, company announcements
- Strong social instincts and understanding of what performs on LinkedIn and professional platforms; ability to make enterprise content interesting rather than corporate
- Experience owning company social channels and developing executive thought leadership
- Experience with PR and external communications, including media relations, launches, announcements, and proactive storytelling
- Strong instincts around brand voice, messaging, and narrative
- Experience working directly with founders or senior executives and translating their thinking into compelling external content
- Ability to move fast: spot relevant conversations and ship smart, on-brand responses the same day
- Strong creative instincts across copy, visual content, and short-form video (don't need to be a designer, but know what great creative looks like)
- Experience marketing to sophisticated enterprise audiences where credibility and precision matter
- Portfolio demonstrating range across social, campaigns, communications, thought leadership, and content
- Based in New York or willing to relocate (in-office in NYC required)
- AI-first mindset with deep integration of AI into monitoring conversations, research, ideation, creation, repurposing, and distribution
NICE TO HAVE:
- Background in legal tech, AI, enterprise SaaS, fintech, cybersecurity, or other technical/high-scrutiny industries
- Existing relationships with technology, legal, AI, or business media
- Experience building a company or founder social presence from the ground up
- Experience creating or producing short-form video
- Experience managing PR agencies or external communications partners
- Early-stage experience where you built the function rather than inherited it
