Spendesk is seeking a Product Designer to shape the future of its financial operations platform, with a focus on AI-powered and automation-driven workflows. You will work within cross-functional squads alongside Product Managers and Engineers to design and deliver experiences that solve meaningful user problems and create value for customers and the business.
You will own design work end-to-end, from problem definition through delivery and iteration. This includes building a strong understanding of users, workflows, product context, and business/technical constraints. You'll partner closely with Product and Engineering to clarify problems, goals, and success measures, and conduct user research to validate design decisions.
A key responsibility is helping evolve Spendesk's design system. This involves not only defining reusable components and patterns but also establishing documentation, contribution processes, governance, and ways of working that make the system scalable and sustainable across teams. You'll collaborate with other designers to ensure quality implementation and help teams adopt shared standards consistently.
You'll design intuitive, accessible, and consistent workflows that simplify complex financial and operational tasks. You'll use customer feedback and product data to evaluate outcomes and iterate on solutions. The role also includes contributing to the wider design team by sharing knowledge, giving constructive feedback, and helping improve product experience and design practices.
Required qualifications include three or more years of experience designing digital products in cross-functional teams, with autonomous ownership of design work from problem definition through delivery. You need strong interaction design and information architecture skills, particularly for complex workflows or data-heavy experiences. Experience building or significantly evolving a comprehensive design system is essential, including hands-on work with components, patterns, documentation, and governance. Strong collaboration and communication skills, particularly with Engineers and other designers, are critical. You should have good product thinking that connects user needs, product goals, business context, and technical constraints.
Nice-to-have skills include experience designing AI-assisted workflows, familiarity with fintech or spend management, and experience with experimentation and data-informed product development.
