In this Backend Engineer role on the Care team, you will design, build, and evolve the services powering BlaBlaCar's backoffice platform. You'll maintain strategic user-facing features including claim management and reporting systems that are core to the platform's integrity. You'll take full ownership of substantial features from technical design through implementation, deployment, and monitoring in production.
You'll collaborate closely with Product Managers and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. A key part of the role involves upholding and improving code quality standards through detailed code reviews and mentorship. You'll also document solutions and ensure APIs and services are well understood by consumer teams.
The position is hybrid, requiring 2 days per week in the Paris office. REQUIREMENTS:
- Solid experience from companies with strong engineering culture in growth contexts
- Solid knowledge of Java language and ecosystem with good software architecture foundations
- Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
- Significant experience building, deploying, and operating backend microservices in production environments
- Product-oriented mindset focused on delivering business impact through software design
- Comfort making technical choices and balancing business needs with technical constraints
