Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following a $200M Series B at a $1.4B valuation, the company is expanding teams to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
You will join the Computer Vision Tracker team at an early stage, with significant opportunity to influence technical direction. Operating from Lausanne, Paris, or Zurich, you will focus on creating a global 3D Object Tracking pipeline at the intersection of Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, and Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Research and implement state-of-the-art Computer Vision approaches to object tracking across multiple modalities and scenarios, combining classical and geometrical methods with in-house AI detection models
- Fuse data from multiple sensors (cameras, IMU, radar, etc.) to provide high-precision target estimation and robust tracking through challenging conditions
- Optimize and embed tracking algorithms on heterogeneous platforms with limited compute resources, ensuring real-time performance alongside other software running on the drone
- Work closely with GNC, Sensor Fusion, and AI teams to integrate tracking pipelines into production-ready environments
- Stay at the forefront of scientific trends in computer vision, tracking algorithms, and sensor fusion to introduce cutting-edge methodologies
- Depending on seniority, manage or mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
- Strong academic record with a degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent)
- Proven track record in research, development, and productization of Computer Vision and Sensor Fusion algorithms in hardware-constrained environments
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time systems
- Experience optimizing code for edge deployment
