fal is building the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. The company provides infrastructure, tools, and model access that enable teams to move from idea to production at scale. fal serves developers and enterprises with a unified platform combining high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability.
In this role, you will own the economics and negotiation of fal's largest compute deals. You'll manage major capacity agreements—often $100M or more—with neoclouds and OEMs, from initial diligence through close.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead financial and commercial diligence on every major compute deal: build financial models, stress-test assumptions, and assess counterparty ability to deliver.
• Own the unit economics of fal's compute commitments, including cost per GPU-hour, utilization assumptions, commitment structures, and impact on margin and cash flow.
• Lead negotiations on $100M+ capacity agreements covering price, term, commitments, deposits, payment timing, SLAs, and remedies. Work with legal through signature.
• Source and manage new deals alongside the sourcing team, maintaining a live pipeline view and cost tracking.
• Track market pricing by GPU generation, region, and contract term to benchmark every deal against market rates.
• Provide clear recommendations to leadership and partner with Finance and fleet operations on commitment decisions and timing.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience starting in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, or project finance.
• Expert financial modeling: ability to build models from scratch and stress-test them.
• Experience executing or negotiating large transactions.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice-to-haves:
• Data center, energy, compute, or infrastructure deal experience.
• Exposure to neoclouds, hyperscalers, GPU OEMs, or colocation providers.
• Time in a corporate or startup finance or BizOps seat after banking or PE.
