Fal is building the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. The company provides infrastructure, tools, and model access that enable teams to move from idea to production at scale. Fal's unified platform combines high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability to unlock new categories of AI-native products.
In this technical and commercial role, you will own fal's GPU capacity acquisition strategy and supplier relationships. You are responsible for ensuring fal can secure the GPUs it needs at the right price when needed. This is not a sales role or a procurement desk—it requires equal parts technical depth and commercial acumen.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building deep, multi-level relationships across hyperscalers and neoclouds, including NVIDIA cloud partners, to ensure fal is the first call when capacity becomes available.
- Evaluating every supplier offer from GPU specifications through data center configuration, including hardware generation, node and rack setup, interconnect, power density, and cooling to understand actual delivery versus spec sheets.
- Tracking GPU pricing by generation, region, and contract term; explaining price movements and their market signals; and recommending when fal should buy, wait, or switch suppliers.
- Negotiating capacity commitments, deposits, payment timing, SLAs, and remedies alongside fal's deal team, and shepherding agreements to signature.
- Converting GPU requirements from the fleet operations team and demand forecasts into concrete sourcing plans, identifying which suppliers, regions, and terms best serve fal's needs.
- Developing and defending a market point of view on incoming supply, platform transitions (such as new GPU generations), and regional or policy shifts, translating these insights into sourcing decisions.
- Willingness to travel to evaluate infrastructure and sites in person.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in compute or infrastructure capacity, sourcing, partnerships, or strategy at a hyperscaler, neocloud, GPU marketplace, chip vendor, OEM, or AI infrastructure company.
- Technical fluency with GPUs, servers, and data center infrastructure sufficient to evaluate supplier offerings.
- Commercial judgment: comfort with unit economics and contract structures, and ability to recognize when pricing signals underlying issues.
- Proven track record building relationships across large, complex organizations.
- Existing relationships at hyperscalers or major neoclouds, including NVIDIA cloud partners (preferred).
- Experience managing allocation, forecasting, or partner standing directly with NVIDIA or a tier-1 OEM (preferred).
