fal is building the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. The company provides infrastructure, tools, and model access that enable teams to move from idea to production at scale. fal is seeking a Compute Capacity Acquisition professional to own the company's relationships with hyperscalers and neoclouds, ensuring fal can secure GPUs at the right price when needed. This is a hybrid technical and commercial role. You will build deep, multi-level relationships across hyperscalers and neoclouds, including NVIDIA cloud partners, positioning fal as a priority when capacity becomes available. You will evaluate every supplier offer from GPU specifications through data center configuration—assessing hardware generation, node and rack configuration, interconnect, power density, and cooling to understand what a configuration will actually deliver beyond spec sheets. You will track GPU pricing by generation, region, and contract term, explaining price movements and their market signals to inform buy/wait/switch decisions. Working alongside fal's deal team, you will negotiate capacity commitments, deposits, payment timing, SLAs, and remedies, shepherding agreements to signature. You will translate GPU requirements from the fleet operations team and demand forecasts into concrete sourcing plans, identifying which suppliers, regions, and terms best serve fal's needs. You will develop and defend a point of view on supply coming online, platform transitions such as new GPU generations, and regional or policy shifts, converting these insights into sourcing decisions. This role requires willingness to travel to evaluate sites and infrastructure in person. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, economics, or related field - 5+ years in compute or infrastructure capacity, sourcing, partnerships, or strategy at a hyperscaler, neocloud, GPU marketplace, chip vendor, OEM, or AI infrastructure company - Technical fluency with GPUs, servers, and data center infrastructure sufficient to evaluate supplier offerings - Commercial judgment: comfort with unit economics and contract structure; sense for when pricing signals problems - Track record of building relationships across large, complex organizations - Existing relationships at hyperscalers or major neoclouds, including NVIDIA cloud partners (nice-to-have) - Experience managing allocation, forecasting, or partner standing directly with NVIDIA or tier-1 OEM (nice-to-have) - Willingness to travel for site and infrastructure evaluation
