Chariot is a modern payment infrastructure platform serving the nonprofit sector, processing over $1.8B in annual payment volume. The company is scaling rapidly to onboard tens of thousands more nonprofits while expanding into new payment flows, creating growing regulatory, risk, and partner-network requirements.
As a Senior Product Manager for Compliance, you'll own the compliance product roadmap and translate complex regulatory requirements into shippable, secure product that scales without slowing the broader team. Your core responsibilities include:
**Core Responsibilities:**
- Turn regulatory requirements (KYC/identity, fraud, disputes, payment-rail rules) into executable product specs that engineers can ship
- Own the compliance roadmap, setting priorities across problem statements like scaling to 1,000+ onboardings daily or building secure infrastructure for check sending at scale
- Decompose regulatory complexity by untangling bank, partner-network, and regulatory requirements to identify what actually drives outcomes
- Partner with Chariot Labs (the internal AI engineering team) to build systems enabling compliance to scale: onboarding, fraud, and disbursement infrastructure
- Ensure execution rigor so nothing falls through the cracks—compliance work fails on missed details
- Translate regulation clearly to Product and Engineering teams, and product decisions clearly to banking partners and networks
**Required Qualifications:**
- 3+ years of product management experience
- Ability to untangle regulatory and partner-network requirements
- Precise scoping and spec-writing skills; translate regulatory requirements into specs engineers can execute
- Highly organized and detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to ship quickly so compliance doesn't become a bottleneck
- Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Technical fluency (comfortable reading API docs, understanding webhooks, without needing to code)
**Nice to Have:**
- Seasoned payments/fintech product background with deep regulated money-movement domain expertise (rails, KYC/identity, fraud, disputes)
- Commercial instincts for partner and bank-facing work
- Experience in fast-moving startup environments
