Forus is an AI-powered network connecting doctors, pharmacies, payers, and biopharma companies to accelerate patient access to new medicines. The platform automates insurance coverage, financial assistance, and supply chain navigation, operating free for doctors and patients while enabling biopharma to design better research and launch drugs more effectively.
As Compliance Officer, you will build and lead Forus's modern healthcare compliance program, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This is a foundational role at a critical growth stage, with responsibility for establishing the compliance and privacy infrastructure that will support rapid scaling and maintain client and partner trust.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the OIG-aligned healthcare compliance program supporting operations and client/partner relationships
- Overseeing privacy and HIPAA compliance programs, including policies, workforce training, minimum-necessary practices, and coordination with Security on technical controls
- Operationalizing compliance requirements through policy development, training, monitoring, remediation cycles, and day-to-day business guidance
- Leading all aspects of compliance incident response: investigations, risk and breach assessments, remediation, and trend analysis
- Partnering with Legal, Security, Clinical, and Engineering on enterprise risk assessments, audits, and certification processes
- Co-owning AI and data governance, including risk assessment, human oversight, testing, monitoring, vendor diligence, and leadership reporting
You bring 10+ years of compliance, privacy, legal, or regulatory experience with meaningful hands-on ownership of a compliance program. Ideally, you have 5+ years of healthcare compliance spanning HIPAA/HITECH, fraud and abuse, investigations, monitoring, policies, and corrective action. You excel at translating complex requirements into strategic, actionable guidance; moving from ambiguous questions to clear, structured answers with minimal guidance; and operating with speed and resourcefulness. You have a strong track record with former teammates and operate with high integrity and ownership mentality.
