Tempus is seeking a Compensation Manager to drive compensation strategy and execution across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of broad-based corporate compensation and sales incentive design, requiring a seasoned specialist who can manage both strategic initiatives and tactical execution. Key responsibilities include: **Compensation Enablement & Advisory**: Serve as the subject matter expert for HR Business Partners and Recruiters on offer structuring, salary band interpretation, and total rewards philosophy. Provide hands-on guidance to ensure consistent, equitable application of compensation policies across the organization. **Sales Incentive Plan Design & Administration**: Lead end-to-end project management of the annual sales incentive plan cycle, including design, stakeholder approvals, and organizational communication. Partner with Sales Leadership, Finance, and Sales Operations to review commission metrics, analyze effectiveness, and establish workflows that reduce ad-hoc plan changes. **Offer Strategy & Exception Management**: Analyze candidate offers against internal structures and market benchmarks, providing actionable recommendations that balance competitiveness with internal equity while minimizing exceptions. **Market Benchmarking & Job Evaluation**: Conduct comprehensive external market analyses using third-party compensation surveys (e.g., Radford) to ensure pay levels remain competitive. Evaluate job descriptions and internal structures to accurately slot new roles into the established job architecture. **Annual Compensation Review Support**: Prepare data, analysis, and tools that enable managers to make informed, equitable pay decisions during annual review cycles. **Compliance & Governance**: Ensure all compensation practices comply with regional and federal labor laws, including pay transparency and FLSA designations. **Process Optimization**: Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and scale recurring workflows using compensation technologies. Required qualifications include a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in corporate broad-based compensation design and administration. At least 2 years of direct experience in sales incentive plan design, tracking metrics, or sales compensation analytics is preferred. Experience in SaaS, biotech, life sciences, or similar high-growth, performance-driven environments is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is essential, with Workday experience preferred. Strong cross-functional project management skills and clear communication abilities are critical for success in this role.
