MasterClass is seeking a Community Manager to own the end-to-end community experience for cohort-based programs, initially focusing on MasterClass Executive, a 12-week business education program for accomplished professionals. You will create an engaging, high-touch experience that helps cohorts build meaningful connections from onboarding through alumni engagement. In this hands-on role, you will both shape community strategy and serve as the daily voice of the community. Key responsibilities include: owning the community experience for MasterClass Executive and Certificates cohorts end-to-end; setting community strategy and creating rituals, programming, and connections that turn cohorts into engaged networks; serving as the daily voice, facilitating conversations, answering questions, and connecting learners; managing multiple cohorts simultaneously while monitoring engagement, sentiment, and retention; building and managing community platforms, channels, playbooks, templates, automations, and AI-enabled workflows to enable scaling; identifying and supporting learner leaders, mentors, and alumni advocates; partnering with Events on weekly live sessions and in-person experiences; and collaborating with Product, Marketing, Program, and Support teams to turn learner feedback into improvements. You bring 6+ years of experience in community management, learner or member experience, customer engagement, or related fields, with direct ownership of a community program. You have proven experience building and growing engaged online communities, ideally from early or ambiguous starting points. You possess exceptional written communication and facilitation skills suited to sophisticated professional and executive audiences. You are hands-on with community platforms such as Circle, Slack, Discord, Discourse, or Mighty Networks. You demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills, comfort using engagement and retention data to test ideas and improve experiences, curiosity about emerging technology including AI-enabled workflows, and willingness to travel for in-person experiences and flex working hours around live programming and key cohort milestones.
