Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. The Communications Manager, Merchant Announcements role sits within the Communications and Content team and owns the end-to-end delivery of high-impact merchant announcements. You will be the central coordinator between account managers, merchants, channel owners, and the broader communications team, ensuring announcements reach the market with precision and measurable impact. This is a role that blends editorial judgment, project management, and stakeholder influence. Key responsibilities include: leading end-to-end coordination of hero merchant announcements from brief through publication; creating PR and social copy with consistent accuracy and commercial relevance; building strong relationships with account managers, regional marketing leads, and merchants; briefing channel owners across PR, social, and owned media; owning and maintaining a healthy pipeline of upcoming announcements prioritized by commercial impact; tracking KPIs including PR hits, social impressions, and share of voice; and continuously improving the merchant announcements programme through workflow optimization and post-publication analysis. You bring communications, content, or PR experience ideally in B2B or fintech environments, with a track record of managing complex multi-stakeholder announcements. You are AI-fluent, using LLMs and associated tools as a matter of course to work faster and think harder. You write fluently across formats—from press releases to LinkedIn captions—while maintaining narrative coherence. You are a natural coordinator who keeps projects on track, earns trust from commercial and creative colleagues, and manages up and across effectively. You are data-literate and outcomes-focused, understanding what good looks like for earned media and paid social performance. You have sharp attention to detail, particularly around accuracy in copy carrying a merchant's name publicly. You care deeply about delivering the best quality output, welcome constructive criticism, and think in systems—anticipating ripple effects of changes on brand experience. You are highly accountable, take ownership for every action, and build trust through transparency about faults and failures. You are self-motivated, work independently, and love learning—excited to grow and wear many hats in a team environment.
